2019 Trade Market: The Columbus Blue Jackets need a goal scoring threat, and we think we have a solution

The Columbus Blue Jackets lost some goal scoring this offseason when Artemi Panarin opted to leave the team after a long free agency saga and signed with the New York Rangers.

The Jackets signed Gustav Nyquist to help recover some of the lost production, but it’s hard to replace a dynamic winger like Artemi Panarin.

But it may be possible via the trade market.

The Jackets need a proven goal scorer who can put points on the board. What if I told you there was such a player?

Here are some important statistics that the team could look at by targeting this player:

Goals: 107
Goals per game: 0.637
2015 champion
Scored five goals in one game just this year

Yes, the player the Blue Jackets should target this offseason? Alex Morgan, of the United States women’s national team.

Clutch player? Check. She scored the game winning goal to send the USWNT into the World Cup Final.

Plus, if the United States is going to win, they could use a young player coming off the bench with some talent, and a new contract to boot. Hence, we are proposing Scott Harrington to the United States for Alex Morgan.

In all seriousness, good luck from all of us here at The Cannon to the United States today as they take on the Netherlands in the World Cup Final. Those that want to watch and cheer for the ladies as they attempt to defend their 2015 title can do so today at 11 AM on FOX.

Good luck to Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, and the rest of the USWNT today!
