2019 Stanley Cup Final Open Thread

After a long (too long, I’d say) break, it’s finally time for the Stanley Cup Final, as the Boston Bruins host the St. Louis Blues in Game 1 tonight.

There are Columbus storylines for each team. The Bruins were the team that eliminated the Blue Jackets, and could make it three straight years that the Jackets were bounced from the postseason by the eventual champion. The Blues were once led by John Davidson, prior to his arrival in Columbus. There has been turnover on the roster in those seven years, of course, but he was part of laying the foundation for this run. GM Doug Armstrong was hired by JD.

Here is the full schedule:

Monday, May 27, 8 p.m.: Blues @ Bruins | NBC, SN, CBC, TVA Sports

Wednesday, May 29, 8 p.m.: Blues @ Bruins | NBCSN, SN, CBC, TVA Sports

Saturday, June 1, 8 p.m.: Bruins @ Blues | NBCSN, SN, CBC, TVA Sports

Monday, June 3, 8 p.m.: Bruins @ Blues | NBC, SN, CBC, TVA Sports

*Thursday, June 6, 8 p.m.: Blues @ Bruins | NBC, SN, CBC, TVA Sports

*Sunday, June 9, 8 p.m.: Bruins @ Blues | NBC, SN, CBC, TVA Sports

*Wednesday, June 12, 8 p.m.: Blues @ Bruins | NBC, SN, CBC, TVA Sports

* if necessary

Personally, I’m rooting for St. Louis to sweep Boston, because that will mean that Pittsburgh was swept by a team that got swept by a team that got swept by a team that got swept. But if I were a gambling man it would be on Boston in 6. I think they’re a better, deeper team. On the other hand, in the last six Cup Finals, the team with the longer layoff after the conference finals lost.

Who you got?

Who do you think will win the Cup?
