The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed Joonas Korpisalo to a one year contract extension.
The deal you’ve been waiting for … #CBJ have signed pending RFA G Joonas Korpisalo to a one-year contract. He’s still RFA when this deal is up.
Look for Korpisalo and Elvis Merzlikins, also on a one-year deal, to battle for playing time as Bobrovsky’s replacement.

Korpisalo’s deal comes with a value of $1.15 million for next season and he will compete with Elvis Merzlikins for the right to succeed Sergei Bobrovsky as the Blue Jackets netminder of the future.
In his career, Korpisalo has posted a 41-31-9 record with a 2.89 goals against average and a .907 save percentage while serving mostly as Sergei Bobrovsky’s backup.
