Jackets Host 2018 Development Camp June 25 - 28

The Columbus Blue Jackets host their annual Development Camp June 25th -28th, 2018 at the Ice Haus.

Every year after the draft, the Columbus Blue Jackets’ prospects, as well as a smattering of free agents, descend upon Columbus for Development Camp. All on-ice events will be held at the Ice Haus, which is attached to Nationwide Arena. They are free and open to the public.

Monday, June 25th

10-11 a.m. - Group 1 On-Ice
11:30 - 12:30 pm - Group 2 On-Ice

Tuesday, June 26th

8:45-10 a.m. - Group 2 On- Ice
10:30 - 11:45 a.m. - Group 1 On- Ice

Wednesday, June 27th

10-11 a.m. - Group 1 On-Ice
11:30 - 1230 pm - Group 2 On-Ice

Thursday, June 28th

10-11 a.m. - Group 2 On-Ice
11:30 a.m, - 12:30 pm - Group 1 On-Ice

Roster

Forwards

Liam Foudy (2018 Draft) - Foudy was the Jackets first round draft pick in the 2018 NHL Draft. During the 2017-18 season, he notched 24 goals and 16 assists over the course of 65 games for the London Knights (OHL).
Jonathan Davidsson (2017 Draft) - Davidsson was drafted in the sixth round of the 2017 NHL Draft. He spent the 2017-18 season playing for Djurgardens IF (SHL) where he notched 31 points (10g, 21a) over 52 games.
Maxime Fortier (Signed an ELC in 2017) - Fortier has spent the past five seasons playing for the Halifax Moose. During the 2017-18 season, he donned the mark of Captain on his sweater and tallied 75 points.
Vitaly Abramov (2016 Draft) - Abramov is no stranger to the Columbus Blue Jackets system. Towards the end of the 2016-17 season, he was able to get ice time in four games with the Cleveland Monsters. Since the Victoriaville Tigers had a nice run in the playoffs during the 2017-18 season, Monsters fans did not get the joy of watching him play in Cleveland.
Kale Howarth (2017 Draft) - Howarth was drafted by the Blue Jackets in the fifth round of the 2017 NHL Draft and has yet to sign with the team. It is likely he will start at the University of Connecticut in the fall. During the 2017-18 season, Howarth played for the Trail Smoke Eaters (BCHL) notching 61 points over 44 games.
Eric Robinson (Signed an ELC in 2018) - After finishing his career at Princeton University, Robinson signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He even was able to play in one game for the Jackets last season.
Emil Bemstrom (2017 Draft) - The Blue Jackets drafted Bemstrom in the fourth round of the 2017 draft. He has yet to sign a contract with the Jackets. Bemstrom spent last season playing for Leksands IF.
Marcus Karlberg (2018 Draft) - Karlberg was drafted in the third round of the 2018 NHL Draft. He spent last season playing with Emil Bemstrom for Leksands IF.
Trey Fix-Wolansky (2018 Draft) - The Jackets drafted Fix-Wolansky in the seventh round of the 2018 draft. He’s spent the last two season playing for the Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL). During the 2017-18 season, Wolansky scored a career high 89 points.
Billy Moskal (Free Agent) - Moskal has spent the last two seasons playing with Liam Foudy for the London Knights.
Samuel Asselin (Free Agent) - Asselin spent last season playing for both the Shawinigan Cataractes (38gp, 9g, 22a, 31p) and Acadie-Bathurst Titan (19gp, 4g, 7a, 11p).
Christian O’Neill (Free Agent) - O’Neill spent last season playing for the Omaha Lancers (USHL) notching 47 points in the form of 14 goals and 33 assists.
Justin Richards (Free Agent) - Richards played for NCAA champs Minnesota Duluth during the 2017-18 season. His last name may sound familiar to you as he is the son of former Jackets’ head coach Todd Richards. In high school, Richards played for the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets with CBJ prospects, Kole Sherwood and Carson Meyer.
Greg Printz (Free Agent) - Printz is an American through and through having played for the USPHL, USHL, and the US Development Program. During the 2017-18 season, he played for Providence college scoring 4 goals and 10 assists over the course of 32 games.
Sean Dhooghe (Free Agent) - The Aurora, Illinois native spent the 2017-18 season playing for the University of Wisconsin. He had a solid season scoring 30 points over 37 games.
Andrew Bruder (Free Agent) - Bruder spent the 2017-18 season playing for the Niagra IceDogs (OHL) where he scored 11 points over 52 games.
Carson Meyer (2017 Draft) - The hometown boy was drafted late in the 2017 draft. Meyer played the past two seasons for Miami University (Ohio) and it looks like he will get a chance to play for Ohio State this coming season. Unfortunately, Tapeworm Teddy will not be in attendance at this year’s development camp.
Kole Sherwood (Signed ELC in 2015) - Sherwood is another product of the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets who has signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He’s spent the past three seasons playing in the OHL for the London Knights, Flint Firebirds, and Kitchener Rangers. Sherwood will likely start the 2017-18 wearing a Monsters sweater.
Johnny Walker (Free Agent) - Walker spent last season with Arizona State University. He was one of the staples of the team scoring 24 points in 32 games.
Kevin Fitzgerald (Free Agent) - St Cloud State University was home to Fitzgerald during the 2017-18 season. He played in 38 games scoring 5 goals and 14 assists.

Defensemen

Tim Berni (2018 Draft) - Berni was taken in the sixth round of the 2018 draft by the Jackets. Last season, he played for GC Kusnachy Lions in Switzerland.
Justin Wade (Free Agent) - Wade just finished a four year stint at University of Notre Dame. He is a solid defenseman who can break up plays at the drop of a hat.
Tim Theocharidis (Free Agent) - Theocharidis just finished his final year with the Carleton Place Canadians. During the 2017-18 season, he donned the “A” on his sweater and racked up 58 points. If he doesn’t sign a contract this offseason, Theocharidis will be heading to Bowling Green State University.
Andrew Peeke (2016 Draft) - Peeke was drafted by the Blue Jackets in the second round of the 2016 draft. He’s spent the past two years playing with Justin Wade at Notre Dame.
Robbie Stucker (2017 Draft) - The Jackets drafted Stucker in the seventh round of the 2017 draft and is currently unsigned. Last season, he played for the Chicago Steel (34gp, 4g, 15a, 19p) and Fargo Force (22gp, 1g, 12a, 13p) of the USHL.
Jack Ahcan (Free Agent) - Ahcan has spent the past two seasons as a staple of St Cloud State University’s defense. In 72 games, he scored 44 points (8g, 36a).
Georgi Dedov (Free Agent) - Dedov spent last season playing for the Russkie Vityazi Chekhov (MHL) and the Syracuse Jr. Stars (NCDC).
Sam Dunn (Free Agent) - Dunn spent last season playing for the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL. Over 66 games, he tallied 32 points.
Andrew Gunlock (Free Agent) - Spent the 2017-18 season playing for Cranbrook-Kingswood Upper School (29gp, 2g, 16a, 18p) and MDHL Orange (12gp, 1g, 4a, 5p). He is also a product of the Columbus hockey world. From 2013-2-15, Gunlock played for the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets.
Zach Giuttari (Free Agent) - Brown University has been home to Giuttari for the past two seasons. If he doesn’t sign a contract during the offseason, you can bet your buttons he’ll be back at Brown come the fall.

Goaltenders

Daniil Tarasov (2017 Draft) - Tarasov was drafted in the third round of the 2017 draft and has yet to sign a contract. With 1.85 gaa and a .928 save percente in 40 games,he helped carry Tolpar Ufa (MHL) during the 2017-18 season
Veini Vehvilainen (2018 Draft) - Vehvilainen was drafted in the sixth round of the 2018 draft. He spent last season backstopping Karpat (Liiga). In 35 games, Vehvilainen had a 1.89 gaa and a .925 save percentage.
Peter Thome (2016 Draft) - Thome was drafted in the sixth round of the 2016 draft. Instead of signing a contract, he opted to head to the University of North in 2017. Thome only played 12 games this season.
Ivan Kulbakov (Free Agent) - Kulbakov spent the 2017-18 season bouncing between the Quad City Mallards (ECHL) and the Cleveland Monsters (AHL).
Sean Romeo (Free Agent) - Even though Romeo was born and raised in North Carolina, he is no stranger to the great state of Ohio. He spent three seasons playing for the Youngstown Phantoms (USHL) and this past season played for THE Ohio State University. Romeo’s impressive skills helped OSU get to the Frozen Four in 2018.
