Highlight Recap: Flyers at Blue Jackets

Here’s what happened.

NHL: Philadelphia Flyers at Columbus Blue Jackets Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

Despite a slow start from both teams, Philadelphia was able to strike first as Wayne Simmonds tipped a shot home after Columbus lost a defensive zone faceoff.

It looked like Columbus would fail and eliminate themselves in all but math from playoff contention. But, when all looked lost, Cam Atkinson equalized on a gorgeous backhand with minutes to go.

Despite getting a point, it wouldnt matter as Jack Johnson, Matt Calvert, and Artemi Panarin combined to allow Sean Couturier a game winning goal on a 2 on 1 that was defended by mites.
