The Columbus Blue Jackets met up with the Colorado Avalanche Thursday in Denver.

Here’s how it went.

1st Period

Outside of a few penalties each way, and the power play getting some opportunities, there was no scoring. Sergei Bobrovsky was sharp, making 14 stops. Jonathan Bernier was also pretty good.

2nd Period

Pierre-Luc Dubois was dinged for hooking at 12:23 and this is what led to the Avalanche breaking through for the games’ first goal. Mikko Rantanen scored his 14th, assists to Tyson Jost and Samuel Girard. A Blue Jackets power play spilled over into the beginning of the third period.
