2018 NHL Draft, Round 7: Blue Jackets select RW Trey Fix-Wolansky

He had a points explosion in 2017-18

With the 204th pick of the 2018 NHL Draft, the Columbus Blue Jackets selected right wing Trey Fix-Wolansky of the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL.

Fix-Wolansky is another undersized player - like Marcus Karlberg, he’s listed at 5’8” - but he scored at a prolific rate this past season, with 32 goalsl and 57 assists in 71 games.

Future Considerations had him ranked as the #174 prospect, so this is a good value pick.

This feature from the Edmonton Sun in March describes his unlikely rise to becoming a WHL star.
