2017-18 Season

Scott Harrington upped his playing time in the big leagues last season for the Blue Jackets under John Tortorella, playing a career-high 32 games. In parts of four NHL seasons, and the last two in the Jackets’ organization, Harrington has been a body for defensive depth. That’s pretty much it.

During his time on the ice for Columbus last season, Harrington put up five points (two goals, three assists). Both goals were scored in separate wins at the Devils, including the eventual 2-1 game-winner Feb. 20.

He got his big break filling in for Ryan Murray who was lost for a significant amount of time to injury, with Harrington cracking the lineup for 24-consecutive games.

2018-19 Forecast

The 25-year-old is in the final year of his two-year deal in which he is making $700,000, coming with a cap hit of $675,000.

When Harrington suited up with regularity, the numbers don’t paint him in the best light (46.83 CF% 5V5). If you’re wondering whether he has any regular role with the club moving forward, it’s likely as much as it’s been in previous seasons.

If someone gets hurt, he will get a chance to play, but it’s not like any of the regulars will have to worry about losing out on playing time to Harrington.

So what did you like most about him?
