Zach Werenski’s stellar rookie season earned some recognition tonight.

Per Elliotte Friedman, Werenski, along with Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Patrik Laine of the Winnipeg Jets are nominated for the Calder Trophy, awarded annually to the NHL rookie of the year.

Werenski had a great year, registering 11-36-47 for the Blue Jackets, all franchise rookie records. He scored one goal in the playoffs before getting knocked out with facial fractures
