Quick Takes: Jackets beat Rangers, 5-2

Columbus claims the season series with this road win

NHL: Columbus Blue Jackets at New York Rangers
Wennberg - yes, Wennberg, had a multi-goal game

What a game!

After blowing out the Islanders in Nationwide last night, the Blue Jackets traveled to the Big Apple to face the other New York team.

Just a minute in, Alexander Wennberg opened the scoring by deflecting a David Savard shot.

New York responded 3 minutes later with a score by He Who Shall Not Be Named. But it was all Columbus after that, with a power play goal by Cam Atkinson, a SECOND goal from Wennberg, and then a second goal from Atkinson on a breakaway.

Bob did Bob things and stood on his head from time-to-time.

Josh Anderson piled on with a goal in the final minute, then Jesper Fast scored for the Rangers in the final second.

This was the 7th straight strong performance from Columbus (5-2 record in that span). Both games this weekend featured strong performances for the entire 60 minutes. No period-long lapses.

The Blue Jackets are still actually good, and hockey is fun again.
