Quick Takes: Blackhawks 5, Jackets 1

New, comments

Here’s what happened

NHL: Columbus Blue Jackets at Chicago Blackhawks David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

So, uh, that wasn’t great

Chicago struck early with goals from Patrick Kane and former Blue Jacket Brandon Saad.

In the second period, Jonathan Toews before the Jackets finally got on the board with a Sonny Milano goal (tipping in a Nick Foligno shot). Jan Rutta then scored shortly thereafter.

Richard Panik added to the tally late in the third.

Joonas Korpisalo and Seth Jones stand out as Jackets who underperformed the most.

Looking at the advanced stats, the game was much more even. The Blackhawks simply did a better job at converting their chances.
