2017 NHL Draft: Columbus goes local; selects Carson Meyer

Meyer is a current Miami University RedHawk

With their second selection in the sixth round of the 2017 NHL Draft, the Columbus Blue Jackets selected right wing Carson Meyer from Miami University. Carson Meyer grew up in Powell, Ohio.

He was undrafted twice before being selected this year. He was invited to Blue Jackets development camp last year. Aaron Portzline profiled Meyer last month in the Dispatch.

Wouldn’t it be great if Meyer could make the Jackets roster in the future, along with Kole Sherwood?
