Unless you've had your head buried in the sand, you've already heard everything there is to know about McDavid. He's a once-in-a-generation player, the kind of talent that can take a terrible team and make them a contender. Not since Sidney Crosby has there been a player with this much hype leading up to the draft. He's an offensive dynamo who makes everybody around him better.

Scouting Reports

A generational talent, Connor McDavid is a catalyst for positive plays in all three zones. Thinks the game analytically and recognizes scoring chances before they have even happened. Blessed with good size and an elite-level skillset, which includes nimble skating and deft puckhandling. All-in-all, a dominant center with all of the will, power, and intangibles to become a successful hockey luminary. - Elite Prospects

McDavid is considered to be one of the best players available for the NHL Draft since Sidney Crosby was chosen first overall back in 2005. His skating, shot and hockey IQ are all at an advanced level, and he has the ability to make other players around him better. Although more noted for his offensive skills, McDavid can be used in any situation. He is certainly the most NHL-ready prospect from the 2015 class. - Hockey's Future
Assets: An outstanding talent, he has tremendous skating ability and awesome offensive awareness. Can make big plays at top speed, which sets him apart from the pack. Is also mature beyond his years.
Flaws: Must continue to bulk up because he will be a nightly target for opposing defenders (and coaching staffs). Therefore, he must also continue to thrive with the constant spotlight shining on him.
Career Potential: Uber-talented center with huge upside. - Sports Forecaster

A Good Fit in Columbus?

McDavid will be the first overall pick, and with the Jackets picking 8th, he won't even be in the conversation among the Columbus scouts and management. Hey, at least he'll be in the Western Conference.
