2013 NHL Draft: Jackets Draft Dillon Heatherington 50th Overall

After trading their second round pick (44th Overall) to the Penguins for the 50th and 89th overall picks, the Jackets used the 50th on defensive defenseman Dillon Heatherington. He’s a shutdown blueliner with good size- 6’3″ 196lbs. He was a member of Team Canada at the U-18s, and brings a steady presence to the back end.

The Jackets’ prospect pipeline on defense is chock-full of good young players, and Heatherington adds to that group. Ranked 31st by Central Scouting, the Jackets got good value picking him up at 50th.
