Today in the "A": Back to Work

Tonight is a big night in the "A" as we enter the final four weekends of the regular season. The Falcons host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7:30. Bridgeport has only posted two wins in their last ten games, while the Falcons are 4-4-2 in their last ten.

A look ahead to some other crucial Eastern Conference games tonight:

Portland at Connecticut
Both teams have added players on ATO's this week. The Whale added LW Andrew Yogan and D Peter Ceresnak while the Pirates picked up D Harrison Ruopp and C Justin Maylan. While it's unlikely that any of the four will impact the game tonight, it's a crucial game for the Pirates, who can ill afford to leave any points on the table.

Manchester at Providence
The Boston Bruins swapped centers this week, sending Maxime Sauve back to Providence, while recalling Trent Whitfield for their west coast trip. The Baby B's still have a pulse, but badly need to pick up two points tonight.

Adirondack at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
Another team on the verge of being considered out of it, the Phantoms are going into one of the toughest buildings in the league, desperately needing a win.

Albany at Norfolk

Let's see...Norfolk on an 18 game winning streak, the Devils fighting for a playoff spot. It could be a tough night for Albany.

St. John's at Syracuse

The IceCaps are leading the Atlantic Division by a handy 14 points, but have had some road struggles. The Crunch, precariously holding onto the eighth and final playoff spot would like to fortify their playoff grasp tonight.

Just a reminder, here is the Eastern Conference playoff picture (from 6th place through 14th):

6. Bridgeport 72 points, 12 games remaining
7. Manchester 69 points, 11 games remaining
8. Syracuse 68 points, 11 games remaining
9. Worcester 67 points, 12 games remaining
10. Albany 67 points, 11 games remaining
11. Springfield 66 points, 11 games remaining
12. Portland 65 points, 12 games remaining
13. Adirondack 63 points, 12 games remaining
14. Providence 63 points, 11 games remaining
