Owners Tournament Rosters Released

New, comments

As they have for the past four seasons, the Jackets' owners met for a unique spin on a fantasy draft earlier tonight, dividing up the team's training camp invitees for the annual Owner's Tournament on the second day of camp.

While previous years were generally focused on which team acquired Rick Nash or R. J. Umberger, the additions of Jeff Carter, Vinny Prospal, and James Wisniewski added some nice wildcards to the mix.

The basic rosters can be found here, and the Jackets also have a detailed roster and tournament schedule here.

If I have one complaint, it's the fact that games will be switched between the main ice at Nationwide and the Ice Haus, and the consolation game will start 15 minutes ahead of the championship, asking fans who come down for the tournament to pick between one or the other.

I realize that this schedule is probably designed to be friendlier to the players, but it seems like delaying a bit would have been a bit kinder. You're doing this for the fans' benefit anyhow, so why not make it easier for them to watch the entire thing?

Looking at the rosters, while I suspect a lot of people will be favoring Team McConnell, I wouldn't sleep on Team Wolfe.

I've also heard some people on Twitter questioning Team Crane's makeup - it seems to me he concentrated primarily on building the best possible defense above a high-powered scoring machine. It'll be interesting to see how that pays off...

Take a look, and let us know what you think - who has the edge?
