New, comment
The Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Minnesota Wild by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday at the Traverse City Prospects Tournament.

The Jackets got the game started the right way when Mike Thomas opened the scoring less than a minute into the first period. Assisting Thomas were Adam Payerl and Dalton Smith.

Director of Amateur Scouting Tyler Wright said:
"We had another really good effort tonight. We got excellent goaltending from (Paul) Dainton; and (Michael) Chaput and Boone Jenner had their best games of the tournament."

The teams traded second period goals, the Jackets coming on an unassisted effort my Michael Chaput.

Tyler Johnson picked up the insurance marker late in the third period with assists going to Boone Jenner and Oliver Gabriel.

Springfield Falcons coach Rob Riley commented:

"This was a very tough win tonight. Dainton was solid in goal, as were Theo Ruth, Dalton Prout, David Savard and Cody Goloubef on defense.  This was really a night led by team defense and strong penalty killing."

The Jackets were an impressive 5 for 5 on the penalty kill, improving to 12 out of 13 for the tournament.

Worth noting, was John Moore did not play in the game.
