Dorsett To Miss Dallas, But Improving

New, comments

Some good news from the Jackets' practice today. RW Derek Dorsett, who left the ice in last night's game after a nasty fall and appeared to be experiencing concussion symptoms, says that the headaches have cleared and the only discomfort he's feeling is pain in his neck. (Which is probably a case of the shoe being on the other foot if you ask the other 29 teams in the NHL.)

The passionate agitator will not travel with the team to Dallas, and his status for Wednesday night against LA (or Friday against Chicago) is questionable. It's not clear if he will need to pass a neurological test before returning to the ice, but I wouldn't be shocked - given his concussion history, I'm sure the team will want their medical staff to sign off completely before allowing him to play.

LW Ethan Moreau continues to take part in full contact practices and appears to be close to returning to the lineup. No word for certain, but Wednesday appears to be a real possibility.

Andrew Murray is expected to take Dorsett's place on the third line for now with Clark and Pahlsson, and we'll have a full preview of the game against the Stars tomorrow morning.
