Game 3 Open Thread: Jackets vs. Canucks

Here's what we know Jackets fans:

  • The Canucks are going with Cory Schneider in net tonight. He's arguably the best backup in the league, and would be a number one on most teams in the NHL, so don't get too excited that we're facing a "backup".
  • Looks like Johansen may not play after all, contrary to what I had in the preview. I'd love to hear the reasoning behind this one- maybe coach Arniel wants to save him for Colorado and/or Dallas.
  • If Kris Russell is in the lineup tonight, I expect a big game from him. He was a healthy scratch against Minnesota, and his opportunity to excel while Wisniewski is out is starting to dwindle.
  • Manny's back. Love Manny.
  • The Jackets have yet to score a powerplay goal. The powerplay is a work in progress with so many new faces (and a new coach running it) but the special teams need to be better.

I'm expecting an exciting, end-to-end game tonight. Both teams have the horses up front to make things happen offensively, the team that receives the better goaltending should come out as the victor.
