Jenner is a center for the OHL’s Oshawa Generals. He is the kind of player coaches love- he comes to work everyday, lays it all out on the ice, and is a leader. He is strong defensively, and does all of the game’s little things right. While he’ll never be relied on to put up huge offensive numbers, he has the makings of a solid third line super-checker at the NHL level, and is letter-material.

Scouting Report (Chris Edwards, NHL.com):

“The phrase, ‘I want 20 of those guys on my team,’ gets overused, but it not only applies to Boone, he can be the poster boy for it. Boone does what it takes to win. He blocks shots, wins battles along the boards and is an outstanding forechecker. He wants to be first to the puck every time. He’s solid on his skates and fights through checks on his way to the net.”

Why he’d be a good fit in Columbus:

Jenner would be a good fit on any NHL club. Players like Jenner are the glue guys for successful teams, taking care of the unheralded tasks so the star players can take care of the offense. As a Blue Jacket, Jenner would be the heir apparent to Sammy Pahlsson, filling the role as third-line center.
