Call it a split so far. The Jackets are 0-0-2 on their west coast road trip, losing in overtime to the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks. Tonight the boys are in Edmonton, looking to end the road trip with a win.
In terms of play on the ice, the Jackets have looked increasingly more focused and energized. They seem to be close to bringing it all together after that extended losing streak, and tonight's game may just be a win- a win to start a new streak perhaps.
Tonight marks the return of Ethan Moreau to Edmonton. The former Oilers captain was waived with the intention of being bought at this summer, and the Jackets claimed him off of waivers. I'm sure he will be nice and revved up to face the team that cast him aside.
The Oilers have a boatload of skill up front. Their best players are young, but inexperienced. The Jackets will need to continue their recent bout of success on the powerplay and will have to check those aformentioned Edmonton forwards hard.
Enjoy the game!
