Falcons Sign Lebda to PTO

From today's FWIW department, the Springfield Falcons announced today that they have signed ex-Detroit Red Wing defenseman Brett Lebda to a Pro Tryout Agreement. Lebda last played 41 games for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2010-2011 season. The Leafs traded him to the Nashville Predators last summer.

Falcons host MAJOR press conference on Tuesday

The Springfield Falcons, announced today that they will host a major press conference on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 starting at 12-noon in the MassMutual Center ballroom pre-function area. Speculation is optimistic regarding the always tenuous future of the Falcons in Springfield. The club has been seeking a new infusion of local ownership for well over a year. Veterans Pace Falcons

NHL veterans Nick Tarnasky and Jay Pandolfo netted third period tallies as the Springfield Falcons defeated the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (NY Islanders) 5-3 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield. A busy weekend continues tonight when the Falcons travel to Manchester, NH to take on the Monarchs (LA Kings) before returning to "The Nest" for a Sunday afternoon contest against the Norfolk Admirals (Tampa Bay Lightning).

Falcons defeat Bridgeport 4-3

The Springfield Falcons put together a nice come from behind 4-3 win over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (NY Islanders) Tuesday night at the MassMutual Center in Springfield. It was a big night for the line of Matt Calvert, Ben Guite and Tomas Kubalik, as they accounted for all four Falcon tallies. The Falcons return to the ice Friday night at home when they take on the Hartford Wolfpack for the last time before they are rebranded as the Connecticut Whale.

Falcons Fall in Manchester

The Springfield Falcons were defeated by the Manchester Monarchs (LA Kings) 4-2 on Sunday afternoon in Manchester, NH. Matt Calvert (SH) and Ben Guite tallied for the Falcons. The Falcons return to action Tuesday night in Springfield when they take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (NY Islanders).
