I took over Zekebud's blog temporarily to put up a post analyzing the success of goaltenders in the draft. While I didn't write specifically about the CBJ, it seems relevant (particularly in light of the mock draft selecting Subban).
If you're looking for one-stop shopping when it comes to 2012 NHL Mock Drafts, look no further than the list compiled by the DC Sports Report. So good.
It's sort of old news by now, but the Jackets have found their new ECHL affiliate- the Evansville Icemen. Evansville is a new member of the ECHL, and they replace the since-folded Chicago Express as the ECHL farm club of the Jackets.
Just like at the trade deadline, there's a lot of absolute nonsense flying around Twitter leading up to the draft and free agency. I think it's a good time to re-familiarize yourself with this fantastic article by Sam Page over at On the Forecheck. Don't believe any anonymous "insiders" as all these Nash rumors (and other topics) come up. Make sure you're really following a beat reporter, the TSN guys, or somebody similar who isn't just looking for attention.

Congrats to our Captain Mike MacLean and his wife on the birth of their first child, Maria Elizabeth Anne MacLean! She will no doubt be a fine addition both to The Cannon and the CBJ Army.
Hey there Cannon community. Your friendly neighborhood Wild writer stopping by again. As we did last year, we are running a poll based mock draft, and allowing the community to pick for each team. Today, the Jackets are on the clock, and we would love your input. Come on over, cast your vote, and let us know who we should be voting for your team and why. That, or ignore us completely, and we will draft Jake McCabe for you. Hope to see you there. Voting ends at midnight central time.
Columbus prospect Mike Reilly and his Penticton Vees of the BCHL just wrapped up an unbelievable season by defeating the Woodstock Slammers to win the RBC Cup, the holy grail of Jr. A hockey in Canada. Reilly was a go-to offensive defenseman for the Vees, and will make the jump to college hockey with Minnesota next season.
This is something I've been looking at for a little while and I put together over at my blog. I know there's this notion that the Jackets are just Rick Nash... but that's fairly accurate from the forwards, and even he's not enough. Point per game analysis isn't the best for determining player value, but I found (unsurprisingly) that the Jackets don't cut it compared to the top 10 teams in the NHL. Check it out if you're interested.
I just wanted to hear your opinions on this article
Blue Jackets' defenseman Jack Johnson reprises his 2010 role with the United States team at the World Championships, being named the team's Captain for the 2012 tournament, which kicks off tomorrow. This is Johnson's fifth time on the US team, including four straight years from 2009-present.
