NHL.com Released its first set of mock drafts today, and all three of them have the CBJ picking up Nathan MacKinnon.
Adam Kimelman's has the CBJ picking up Nathan MacKinnon, Elias Lindholm, and Mirco Mueller (Murray's former blue line partner). This is my favorite as it gives the CBJ two instant-impact 1st line talents in MacKinnon and Lindholm, which would give the team some serious punch on the 1st line as either of those guys has the skill to play center or wing, yet they're both probably more suited to play center.
Mike Morreale's has the CBJ taking Nathan MacKinnon, Mirco Mueller, and Max Domi, which would again give the CBJ serious firepower on the 1st line. Domi is an excellent prospect, but I like Lindholm more than Domi. This is not a slight on Domi, but I think Lindholm is the more complete player.
Steven Hoffner's has the CBJ taking Nathan MacKinnon, Frederik Gauthier, and Max Domi. This is a draft loaded with offensive talent. MacKinnon provides the CBJ with that elite all-star 1st line center, it gives them Gauthier, who at 6'5" is a huge physical center with good skill for his size, and the previously mentioned Domi, who could be a pest on the wings with his talent, even in spite of his less than ideal size, which can be a little overrated. This is a great draft, and one that I would certainly like, however Kimelman's is still my favorite as he's giving the CBJ two future All-Stars in MacKinnon and Lindholm.
