Having paid close attention through the short off-season to all moves, here's how I see things shaking out in the Metro division.
- Pittsburgh: Unless Fleury has a total meltdown, the Pens will have the division title all but wrapped up by the Olympics.
- Washington: While everyone focuses on Ovie, the simple fact is that the Caps have the fewest question marks about their roster than the rest of the division.
- 5 - Rangers, Islanders, Jackets: Each team has strengths and weaknesses which balance agaainst the other two. Exactly where they finish will depend on luck, determination and how well they execute their team's playing style.
- Philly: Solid upfront, bad defense and Mase is always a question mark. Total meltdown coming.
- Carolina: In two or three years they could be challenging for the play-offs, but are not even close, right now.
- New Jersey: Past time to start a complete rebuild. Too old, too slow, but Schneider will steal them a few wins.
