With the injuries mounting, the Blue Jackets make three roster moves in advance of Thursday's game.
We had speculated this morning, and the Blue Jackets made it official this afternoon. They've added Matt Calvert to the Injured Reserve list retroactive to January 28, and have recalled forward Jonathan Audy-Marchessault and defenseman Tim Erixon.
Calvert is suffering from an upper-body injury sustained against Dallas on Monday, and is expected to be on the shelf for a week. He joins winger Cam Atkinson on the club's IR list. JAM brings some jump and some (hopefully) offensive punch to a lineup struggling to score.
Defensively, the Jackets are nicked up, with both Adrian Aucoin and Nikita Nikitin coming out of last night's game in Minnesota with some issues. Erixon is coming off the AHL All Star game and joins David Savard waiting in the wings to sub in on defense.
Both new players will be available for tomorrow night's game against St. Louis.
