...and it will come, mark my words. Look, I hope the stinker never comes but lets be realistic, it is going to happen, it happens to every team during a season, whether an 82 game or 48 game season. Just ask Detroit. They dropped one big stink bomb against St. Louis in their first game. Sooner or later the Jackets are going to do it too.

I am sure you asking, "and your point is?". Well, this is where a 48 game compressed schedule may help the Jackets. In a "normal" season a team can have days to sit and stew over a bad loss. Having all that extra time is not always a good thing. I am a firm believer when you lay an egg (like Detroit did) the best remedy is to get out there and play again as soon as possible to get rid of the stink. With the schedule set up the way it is this season that is exactly what will happen. In most cases you will be lucky to have only a day to wait before you are back at it.

I like what I have seen from the Jackets so far but it has only been 2 games. I will be very curious to see what happens when/if the Jackets drop a stink bomb of their own. How they respond will be very telling.
