A little lost on the Blue Jacket opening weekend, the Falcons deserve billboard notice. Playing 3 in 3 this past weekend, they won all 3. This gives them a 5 game winning streak. Two things happened Saturday. [1] The,y like the Blue Jackets won in a shoot out. [2] They reached the midpoint of their season, playing their 38th game.

Actually there are a number of other things that could be listed, but I'm not going there right now. Catching up to date with the win Sunday, this was their 39th game. Their record, 24 wins in the 39 games and 54 points. The line up is sprinkled with names that were not there 2 weeks ago, but they have kept winning. The loss of 5 top players to Columbus has not slowed them down.[ In fact, I'd sure be interested in knowing what system has scouted out this available talent for them.] True this is now the AHL, not the super AHL, but the concern about a huge drop off after the Jacket call ups, appears to be groundless at this point.

The predicted wins at this point is now 51 wins and 107 points. We'll see how the statistics work out as the season goes by.

I think there should be huge kudos for the Springfield Coaching staff as well as the players.
