Another week, another set of numbers!

The nice thing is, we know both stories end well, but it's interesting to see how closely matched the teams were - particularly against Phoenix, who never really went away despite their early deficit.

Columbus' top line really suffered at even strength, mostly due to being matched up against Shane Doan and Radim Vrbata, especially later in the game, but the early lead help up in no small part to Steve Mason and the Columbus PK.

On to Thursday's match against the Kings, where things were a little different:

Unlike the game against Phoenix, the Jackets really weren't in control early - I'd argue this game was very much up for grabs until the Kings started putting themselves in serious penalty trouble.

Interesting to see the numbers for the fourth lines and bottom pairings - I would say the team tried to go a bit more "conventional" by matching the bottom six against LA's top players, especially when players like Nash, Brassard, et al were spending a lot of the game on power play duty.

We'll be back with the coming week's chances, including the St. Louis back to back!
