2012 NHL Trade Deadline: Open Discussion Thread

PITTSBURGH, PA - FEBRUARY 26: Columbus Blue Jackets fans in Pittsburgh show their support for Rick Nash #61 of the Columbus Blue Jackets as Nash warms up before a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on February 26, 2012 at CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Happy (or sad) deadline day folks.

The Jackets are expected to make some moves leading up to the 3pm EST deadline today, with the likes of Samuel Pahlsson, Derek MacKenzie and perhaps even Derick Brassard or R.J. Umberger up for grabs.

This thread will be a general discussion thread for all deadline-related topics, including deals involving other teams. Hit up the comments with your thoughts on the day's events. Will the Kings trade Dustin Brown? How about the Isles, will they actually trade Evgeni Nabokov? What other deals are in store? Discuss them in the comments below.

For each Columbus trade, I'll do up a separate post. The other Cannon contributors and myself will update the posts through the day with more in-depth opinion and analysis.

The biggest question of the day, for both fans of the Jackets and the rest of the league, is whether or not Rick Nash is traded. My gut tells me he will be moved this summer, but if the Jackets receive an offer they can't refuse today the big captain will have played his last game in Columbus.

Be sure to check out the SBNation story stream as well.
