So Fedor Tyutin, You Want to be a Blue Jacket?

Welcome to another installment of "So, You Want to be a Blue Jacket?

This series is presented in the form of a mock job interview. The operative word here is mock. We're presenting these from the perspective of the player, as if they were applying for a job with the Jackets. The players themselves aren't involved, so don't contact the team if you disagree with one of their answers! No player will avoid the interview process, not even Rick Nash. Today's interviewee is...

FEDOR TYUTIN

Q) Hi Fedor, tell us a little about yourself.

A) I was born in Izhevsk, Russia on July 19, 1983. I am a left-handed defenseman. I was drafted by the New York Rangers 40th overall in 2001. The Rangers are the only other team I have played for in my career.

Q) Tell us about some intangibles you could bring to the Blue Jackets.

A) I am a durable, all-around defenseman. I have played 80+ games in each of the past four seasons. I generally play more of a defensive role, but I have decent puck-moving abilities and can generate some assists on the power play. I can adapt well for any defensive partner and log heavy minutes without wear.

Q) What areas of your game do you think you can improve on?

A) My decision-making at times can leave me frustrated, and I believe at 28-years-old, the mental portion of my game will continue to develop and soon become one of my strengths.

Q) Can you give us some examples of your hockey accomplishments?

A) I have won gold in international competitions four times in my life. Playing for Team Russia, I won gold at the 2008 World Championships, the 2002 and 2003 World Junior Championships, and the 2001 IIHF World U18 Championships.
