The 23 year old Czech right winger suffered a hand tendon injury in a November 13th fight. At the time, Kana had just one assist in nine games for the Falcons.
Kana didn't see action again until February 4th, when he returned to the lineup. In limited ice time for the balance of the season, he finished up with 2 goals and 4 assists for the season.
Kana was acquired by the Blue Jackets in December of 2009, in a deal where he and defenseman Brendan Bell came to Columbus from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for Pascal Pelletier.
The 2009-10 season was his most productive in North America, having scored 15 goals and adding 13 assists for 28 points in 50 games for the Syracuse Crunch. He was also given the opportunity to skate six games for the Jackets, where he had two assists.
