Jackets Draft Center Boone Jenner 37th Overall

Boone Jenner, C/O the Ontario Hockey League

With their first pick in the 2011 draft, the Jackets drafted center Boone Jenner from the Oshawa Generals.

Jenner doesn't project as a high-end offensive threat, rather he is a defensively responsible center who is a coach's dream. He is a natural leader, and has good size.

I love this pick, a lot of mock drafts and rankings had him going in the first round. Scott Howson is clearly focusing on improving the depth and skill up the middle, with Carter, Brassard, Johansen and now Jenner.
