The Blue Jackets Roundtable Podcast - Episode I
A year ago, I talked with Mike and Matt about wanting to get a podcast off the ground. Here we are at the fruition of that idea. This morning, the three of us convened to record the inaugural edition of the Blue Jackets Roundtable Podcast. Here's to many more through the summer and into the season!
We planned to talk about the draft, and then Scott Howson went and threw a wrench into those plans. But, you can listen using the player below (sorry about the lead-in advertisement) to listen to Mike, Matt, and myself discussing the Jeff Carter trade, the impending start of NHL free agency, the coaching hires of Ian Clark and Todd Richards, and yesterday's release of the team's schedule.
Enjoy! I'll try to do something about that intro sound!

Rats, the podcast is blocked at work (FIREWALL’D!!). I don’t suppose you guys could post .mp3 downloads in future episodes?
I’m looking into that, yes.

Not sure this was touched on in the podcast, because I haven’t listened yet, but I’ve heard the second rounder might be in play still. Rumor was something like a second plus something else for Liles from the Avs.

Also, my unrealistic pipe-dream: Some kind of trade for Ales Hemsky.

Hemsky would be nice, but i think Liles is where we need to go now that we got Carter. Or at least a guy like Liles. It would be a nice surprise if we made a trade tonight for a puck moving d man, and Howson has all night to look for one.
I imagine moving that second will become a lot easier once people know who will actually be left on the board there. The Hemsky thing was just something to daydream about. Can you imagine having a playmaker like that with Nash and Carter?

So we could have gotten Liles for the second round pick? Damn. Maybe they wanted to send him to East conference
I don’t think we could have had liles for just the second pick, which I think is why the film fell through.
