Sorry to See Jake Go, But....
I wish we didn't have to give up Jake, our first rounder and our third rounder, but if it meant getting Jeff Carter, I'm all for a little change! Anyway, our draft choices have been hit or miss since we started with fewer hits than misses so why not get a good player like Carter. Carter and Nash together will definitely make us better and if Johansen can learn a little from Carter and Brassard continues to improve, we may finally have some guys to put it in the net. I think Umby, who had a great year last year will do even better with Carter. It will be interesting who slides in next to Carter and Nash on the first line. Good first step Howson! Now let's get a real solid D-Man in free agency and a right handed catching goalie and I'm happy!

We’ll have to see what happens next – I have a feeling that Howson’s nowhere near done.

congrads.
Congradulation Blue Jackets fans first of all. I know u have been waiting for this for a while now. I have been a die hard Philly fan all the way back to the Tim Kerr days. Do not belive some of the negative things you are hearing from Philly faithful but don’t discount either. Jeff Carter great 2 way player speed size but is Decieving. He does score goals but will not be the best passer and will not throw the body as you would expect for the size. Not going to dig pucks out of the corners either. Yes he does party a little hard so Lock the girls up at OSU he will not hesitate. I like Jeff but he leaves a lot to be desired for what he can be. All in all however you got a good player and I would think he would do better on line without Nash because both shoot a lot. You need to work on getting a couple of real setup guys and defense and then think about playoff run in a tough Western Conf. So good luck and I for one like the moves Philly made today sometimes a team can only go so far and cant get to top and you have to make a change. Still have a ton of talent and great new guys……….. Ps This draft is plenty deep and def. deep in defense
so thanks for the 8 peace.

Deep Draft?
There was only one guy drafted that the experts said was ready for the NHL now and it was the second pick! Everyone said after ten the next 30 guys didn’t separate themselves from each other and you could pick a name out of a hat! For being so excited for the CBJ you sure had enough bad things to say about Carter! We will see if you treat Jake with the patience we did! I wish him luck but he has trouble scoring. That may change, but we know we are getting a scorer! Whether he plays with Nash and who plays with them will be figured out and it will take some time. Whether it is Umbarger or Huselius who provide a little difference or maybe even Vermette, we have enough skill to fit in. You should worry about your team that has been blown up and how well they mesh!

ohh some guy said it must be true.
Your a duche. Look at it now that we know who the Flyers picked. Scince when does it mean that a draft is not deep because guys cant play in the NHL the year they where drafted. That makes zero sense. Do you think that Jeff Carter played in the NHL the year he was drafted? I will save you the trouble NO!!!!! If memory serves me correct he spent 2 and a half in minors. I understand that you guys are new to the whole NHL thing but use your head. Also our team was not blown up we got rid of two guys. Unlike the CBJ we have more than two players who know how too play the game so loosing two players is not the whole team. I saw that as of Monday the team still have not heard from your supposed saviour either. I guess that was just him being such a great team guy. Good thing your gm and nash jumped on a plane to go make sure he was gonna show up one day in that second class hockey town. Hey all being said you should have a great time next year watching JC suck down drinks and bang your girl at OSU. Nothing wrong with that until you realize he was doing at 4 a.m. the night before an Saturday afternoon game.
Tough day, eh? Calm down bud. It wasnt a deep draft. That is a fact. Everyone has said it. Doesnt mean you didnt get a great player in Coutourier and doesnt mean the third rounder isnt going to be good, but a third rounder meant less this year than it does a lot of other years,
When you trade your top two guys, Powe, and whatever comes, thats close to blowing it up. Thats some major changes.
Obviously you need a chill pill
I’m a long time hockey fan from Buffalo, so do not jump to conclusions so fast! Unless you are in your 70’s you have not been around hockey or been as close to NHL players as I have been, but I don’t need to rub your Philly face in it! Also, I didn’t know that Philly players needed to be socially graceful in their off the ice shenanigans! Are you building a Miss Manners team there in Philly? Oh, love Jake, but I hope you guys can put a fire in him and get him to consistently train and play hard and develop some soft hands to score more goals. We couldn’t. By the way, Hockey players are hockey players and if they aren’t a little nuts and a little bit of everything the rest of us normally aren’t then they wouldn’t be hockey players! All of them have their wierdness about them! Grow up!

Do Philly schools teach grammar?
You have some nerve coming on this board, you classless Philly troll. Columbus knows nothing about hockey? Last I checked, Philly knows nothing about winning (except for that once-upon-a-time garbage team called the Phantoms)…
Bottom line: Your team consistently overpays for mediocre goal-tending. Your team lost 2 key pieces to your offense. Nobody in Columbus is worried about JC’s character (heck, who can blame him for wanting to score with hot women, after being stuck in Philadelphia for a few years), only the 30+ goals he puts up year after year. Boston, Pittsburgh, Washington, and Tampa will all smack your sorry team around next season. You have no room to talk about Columbus being a second class city, because your team hasn’t hoisted a Cup since Nixon was relevant (and that is a former US president…to save you the trouble of checking Wikipedia).
Oh yeah, and Columbus has more than 2 good hockey players. If your team had to face Detroit, Chicago, and Nashville each 6 times per season and travel to the west coast constantly, let us see where you would finish in the standings.
And here is a scouting report for the player you got from us for JC: Jake Voracek is a big wing, who plays soft, constantly misses the net, and is very inconsistent in general. He will be a welcome addition to your classless city. Maybe the Center you drafted in the first round will be good in 2 1/2 years…by then you will be earning plenty of top first round picks I am sure.
Now please…do us all a favor and go back to school to earn your GED. You are a disgrace to the English language, “douche”!
The troll was banned, guys. No need to put any more gasoline on the fire.
