Huberdeau is currently ranked third on the Central Scouting's Ranking list. That said, Huberdeau could be a player who slides a bit, potentially to the Jackets at eighth in the order. Huberdeau has been a force for the powerful Saint John Sea Dogs all season, who are currently in the QMJHL finals against Gatineau. Huberdeau is an offensive wizard, able to create offense from nothing and he has the ability to dominate games at the junior level.

If the Jackets decide to keep the pick, and Huberdeau is available, he would be a fantastic compliment to Ryan Johansen up the middle. Johansen is generally considered the favorite to be Rick Nash's partner in crime, leaving Huberdeau as number two center.
