Three Jackets Prospects In Frozen Four Title Game

Stay connected for news and updates

After the University of Minnesota-Duluth knocked off Notre Dame 4-3 in a back and forth battle of a game, all eyes turned to the University of Michigan vs. University of North Dakota matchup, and the Wolverines shocked the hockey world by dropping the seemingly unbeatable Fighting Sioux by a score of 2-0.

That win means that three Blue Jackets prospects will meet in the championship Saturday night, with D-man Drew Olson (a 2008 4th round pick) representing UM-D, while centers Kevin Lynch (2009 2nd round) and Matt Rust (2007 4th round) will be lining up for the Wolverines.

Olson and Lynch are likely to return to the NCAA next season, but Rust is a senior, and barring anything unexpected, he's almost certainly going to be going pro and joining the Springfield Falcons next season as part of the Jackets' depth down the middle.

Good luck to all three - the puck will drop at 7pm on ESPN!
