Brassard on Injured Reserve
The Blue Jackets have officially placed Derick Brassard on Injured Reserve - he is expected to miss two to three weeks with a hand injury. Given that he left the ice after taking a shot off the hand, the timeframe suggests a strain or a hairline fracture, but the club has not disclosed the extent of the injury.

In my mind this is the second worst guy that could get injured behind Nash. We have depth at pretty much every other position, but we don’t really have anything at center.

Plain and simply put… shit.
Hopefully Moreau can help fill the void, even if he isn’t a center. Possible call-up from Springfield?
This is where it gets scary at the deadline. How badly would it hurt if we traded for playoff-players only to miss the playoffs?
Adam Foote still blows!
Right now the team is saying no on a call up, though that could certainly change at any time.
Another option, though less likely, would be for the team to make an emergency call up of Ryan Johansen, though I don’t see that happening right now, either.

Are we allowed to call up Junior players? I that there was some rule where we can’t call a player up until his year is over in the juniors.

The team can perform an emergency recall due to injuries, especially if they make the argument that there are no suitable players available at the AHL level.

They could call him up on an emergency basis, but the same rules about games played are in place still.
