I'm afraid it's Monday again. We all tried to stop it, but it keeps happening. Someone should start a committee.
Scott Howson and Mike Priest are out in Pebble Beach for the Board of Governors meeting where realignment is expected to be discussed, while the Jackets are having a bit of apres ski before taking on Montreal tomorrow. (Or not, actually - the snow was rained out. Seems a perfect metaphor...)
On the realignment subject, the Jackets are concerned about a simple WPG / DET swap, but the vibe is that the four division plan has a lot to recommend it, and it appears to be gathering support. The largest issues standing in the way may come down to questions about the fate of the Coyotes and concerns from the NHLPA.
Backhand Shelf has another Tea with Ms. Conduct and Puck Daddy offers up a Turkish Hockey Brawl (nothing like Turkish Spiderman, sorry), while it seems the NHL's Guardian Project did more than create a confusing spectacle at last year's all-star game: it almost bankrupted the digital production company working on it.
The Jacket Backers will be holding a game watching party tomorrow night at Bethel Center!
Mark Fistric could be the next Discipline Hearing after giving the Islander's Nino Niederreiter a concussion with a questionable hit to the head. Fistric also fits under the repeat offender category, with fines and documented head shots in each of the last two seasons.
Finally, an interesting thought experiment from the Ottawa Sun - what if teams could trade coaches? Not surprisingly, he has Scott Arniel on the move, but wait until you see who he has coming back...
