Shrapnel - 12/30/11

OK, so I slept in a little. It's Friday. We can do that.

Unsurprisingly, a lot of joy out there for the win last night, even with the loss of Wiz. We've got reactions from LTL, Carry The Flag, Martini Hockey, DBJ, the Dispatch, strait-Jackets, Jackets Report and puck-rakers.

Over at Jackets Report, Rob also has his usual bevy of quotes.

Last night also saw some ex-Jacket on ex-Jacket violence after Raffi Torres delivered a late hit to Jan Hejda that could bring supplementary discipline.

Over at DerDrache he has a guest post on coaching and culture, while "The Angry Jacket" confesses at Cannon Report.

At Puck Daddy, Evgeni Malkin showed his whimsical side while autographing some hockey cards, somehow it's OK to do "best of" Winter Classic jerseys when we've only had four installments, and Don Cherry gets musical.

The Hockey News has a "rumor roundup" focused on Columbus - mostly what you'd expect to hear, but I think this is the first time I've heard Grant Clitsome come up.

The Dispatch talks about Derick Brassard's changing roles, Gallos sees an 800 pound gorilla in the locker room, and DBJ wonders about an anonymous source who might just be in Columbus.

Finally, LTL has some World Junior draft watch updates, but this does not include Boone Jenner picking up a pair of assists in Canada's win over Denmark or Nail Yakupov picking up three assists against Denmark.
