3 Jackets On All Star Ballot
The full list of nominees for the 2012 NHL All Star Game fan balloting were released today, and to the surprise of quite a few there's more than one player from Columbus represented.
Rick Nash, unsurprisingly, is on the ballot, but he's joined there by Jeff Carter and R.J. Umberger. If we had to guess, fan voting isn't likely to put more than Nash in the actual ASG (though Carter has an outside shot once he's actually back on the ice), but it's nice to think about.

Also on the ballot? Sidney Crosby. Maybe I missed something, but I didn’t think he was having a very productive season so far. Certainly less points than any of the Jackets on the list.
CCT, CBJ, SU, NYM, Bills Fan. It can be depressing.

Thought Prospal had a better reason to be on the ballot then any of those 3, someday maybe they will actually run a “all star game” instead of a popularity contest (see zeke’s post above.)
The days of worthy players making the ASG over the headliners (at least when there’s a conflict between the two) ended the minute the ASG started getting corporate sponsors…and then they added the fan vote to weld the lid of the coffin shut.
