The Blue Jackets have announced that LW Matt Calvert will be reassigned to the Springfield Falcons today, allowing him to continue to get playing time during the NHL's all star game break.
This move isn't too surprising - the team is high on Calvert, but given it is his first pro season, they want him to get as much playing time as possible. The return to Springfield will allow him to get in at least two more games (possibly three, if he can make it to Hershey in time for tonight's matchup with the Bears) before he is likely recalled back to Columbus next Monday.
Calvert was one of the top scorers for the Falcons, with 13 goals and 11 assists in 35 games, and has contributed two goals and an assist in 9 games with the Jackets.
