Jackets Release Lineup For Friday
This will probably be the last game some of these guys see before heading to Springfield or Juniors. It'll be interesting to compare tonight and tomorrow's lineups to what goes onto the ice Saturday before heading to Sweden.
Nikita Filatov - Ryan Johansen - Tomas Kubalik
Tom Sestito - Kyle Wilson - Dan Fritsche
Andrew Murray - Ben Guite - Maksim Mayorov
Chris Clark - Derek MacKenzie - Mike Blunden
Rusty Klesla - Nate Guenin
Extra: David Savard
Interesting to see a few guys (Murray, Blunden, Clark, DMac) getting the back to back games. You have to wonder if they're being given a shot to show something one last time.
I also like that Fritsche will get another chance to play, even if it's not likely at this point that he'll make the last cuts. Good on Howson and Arniel for that decision.

First Line
That is quite the combination on the first line, I little of everything. Pretty much what every coach/gm dreams of when assembling a team. (ok, that may be a little over the top considering they’re still young and mostly unproven at this level) Still, you’ve got a bona fide sniper on one wing, a big, playmaking center at the pivot, and a power forward with scoring touch on the other side. What’s not to like? This could be one of our top 2 lines in the next 2-3 years. (Apologies to Voracek and Brassard) I could see either Voracek or Kubalik with the other two in the future, but I like the extra size that Kubalik adds to that line. I don’t think it would hurt anyone’s feelings to have our ‘Second’ line of the future be Vermette between Brassard and Voracek (I tend to agree with the school of thought that Brassard would make a better winger with his lack of ability to win face offs).
what is the hype on Kubalik ( i haven’t seen him play at all so i know VERY little about him.) what kind of player is he and who would you compare him to style wise?
Big kid, good hands, smooth skater. Not as immediately offensive as Filatov or Voracek, but picture him in a Tomas Holmstrom role. Able to park in front of the crease and cause a lot of trouble.

He was playing the role in his last two games – getting in the crease and redirecting shots or creating screens. That’s how he got his hat trick last week.
