Cathy Lord's daughter, Coryn, was one of many children treated at Children's Hospital for pediatric cancer. With a strong heart, support from her family, the skill of her doctors, and the support of Blue Jackets players Kris Russell and Jared Boll, she pulled through and is now in remission.

A few years later, Cathy was able to return the favor - her design for Steve Mason's mask was selected by the goaltender in the Design-A-Mask contest this off-season.
