Credit Where It's Due
If I'm going to kick the Dispatch when I feel they've done something wrong, I need to praise them when they do right.
Today's focus piece by Tom Reed on Nikita Filatov as he attempts to fit back in with the team is excellent, providing a great look at how the young Russian has matured, and how his teammates are reacting to the work he's putting in to become a better teammate and player.
Nash, Umberger, Commodore, and Hejda all weigh in, but perhaps the best summary comes from Filatov himself on last year and going forward:
"I'm not going to argue about it. I've said too much about it and said too many wrong things. I'm just ready to get on with it."
So are we all.
Also, don't miss a nice look at the possible third line, including tonight's CBJ debut for Ethan Moreau, written by Portzline as part of their "Jackets' Notebook" articles.
The Jackets take on the Pens tonight at 7pm. We'll have a preview thread, and the usual game thread, up later today.
