Traverse City Tournament Roster Released

Photo

The Jackets released their 2010 roster for the Traverse City Prospect tournament today. We've already taken a look at some of the invites on the roster, and since then four more players have been added to the roster on an invite basis. The Traverse City team is essentially the same group that took part in the Summer Development camp, with the exception of any college players, goaltender Gustaff Wesslau, forward Tyler Murovich and development camp invite Kyle Page.

Here is the roster:

FORWARDS (17) DEFENSEMEN (9) GOALTENDERS (3)
Matt Calvert Brandon Archibald Mathieu Corbeil
Nick Czinder* Anton Blomqvist Riley Gill*
Justin Feser* Steve Delisle Jason Missiaen*
Chris Francis* Cody Goloubef
Oliver Gabriel* Austin Madaisky
Marek Hrivik* John Moore
Ryan Johansen Dalton Prout
Michael Kantor * Ted Ruth
Tomas Kubalik David Savard
Jordan Messier*
Kyle Neuber
Dalton Smith
Ted Stephens*
Petr Straka
Nick Sucharski
Scott Tanski*
Stephon Thorne*

The four new invites since devo camp that we haven't looked at yet are Messier, Tanski, Thorne and Gill. Messier is a power forward with the Tri-City Americans of the WHL. He's a distant cousin of Mark Messier. Tanski was invited to Traverse City last season, and impressed enough to get an invite to main camp. He was eventually cut, but he impressed the brass enough at camp and throughout last season with the OHL's Brampton Battalion that he was invited back this year. Thorne was a teammate of Tanski with the Battalion last year. Riley Gill spent most of last season playing on a horrible Western Michigan squad.

If only half of those d-men turn into real players, we’re going to have an incredible group in a few years.

There’s definitely a solid mix of talent there, offensive talent, defensive toughness, the whole thing. Depth on defense is very important.
