Filatov back in the 'bus Wednesday
Following up with my FanShot from a few weeks ago - Filatov has told the team, and GM Scott Howson has confirmed, that he will land in Columbus tomorrow.
Nikita has kept to his word, by saying he would return in early August. This is a step in the right direction for him to turn the doubters into believers.

By majority of fans, yes, I think so. With his teammates maybe not quite as much. He’s got a lot to prove and a lot to show that he’s grown up since last year. Being 6 weeks early for camp is a good start.

Hate to break it to you, but sorry about your luck. He landed last night and could be at Nationwide Arena as early as today according to the Columbus Dispatch. He’s back and he’s going to go nuts.

well Toronto seems to feel they have a shot at Filatov over at the Pension Plan Puppets.

Man I hate raining on people’s parades…ok maybe not…The odds of them landing Filatov are somewhere between slim and no f’n chance – you know, about the odds they have of winning the Cup in the next 5 years.

I’m not surprised they’re speculating about it (on paper, if you assume that Howson wants to trade Filatov, Toronto seems like a very natural partner), but I don’t think so. I think that Filatov’s commitment to coming over to the US early and getting a head start before training camp makes it almost certain the team will hang on to him.

I’m excited to have him back. I’m going to watch him, Voracek, and Brass this year. I would love to see that line happen.

I’m really excited too. The Young Guns line would be sick. All around the same age, all really really skilled, Voracek’s hair…I mean, how can you go wrong with those three things?
