Montreal Trades Halak to St. Louis
After Jaroslav Halak saved Montreal's season, and post-season, and probably kept Jacques Martin from getting torched in his first season back behind the bench, the Habs repay him by shipping him to St. Louis for a pair of prospects???
Carey Price has pictures of Pierre Gauthier in women's underwear. Nothing else makes sense.
Thanks for making our life harder, Montreal!

As a former habs fan, I would have been thrilled to see him come here, but how much would you have been willing to give up in order to snag him?
Brassard? Umberger? Mason? Filatov? Who would Gauthier have wanted in return? Admittedly, I’m shocked at how little St. Louis had to send back the other way. Those are going to be a tough six games next season.
It’s not so much that I wanted Halak in Columbus (I think Mason will do just fine this year) as 1) I was shocked to see him traded at all, and 2) annoyed to see him dealt to a team in the Central. Columbus had a tough enough task ahead of them before this. :) Now it’s just a little harder…

no way Halak would be worth that much. He got hot in the playoffs, and had a good regular season, but he’s not exactly in the vezina conversation.

Yeah giving up any of those 4 for Halak would immediately trigger the “Fire Howson” rallies.
