Gormley is an all-around blueliner, who excels in both the defensive and offensive zones. He has the ability to supply offense, and doesn't shy away from contact.
2009/2010 Regular Season Stats:
| GP | G | A | PTS | +/- | PIM |
| 58 | 9 | 34 | 43 | +31 | 54 |
Scouting Report (Puck Prospectus):
Gormley comes with a great set of tools. He is such a good puck-mover and makes quality decisions, time after time, with the puck. He isn’t one-dimensional and will be a tremendous asset on the backend.
Why he'd be a good fit in Columbus:
Gormley is generally considered to be one of the top three blueliners available in the draft. As was the case with Fowler and Gudbranson, Gormley fits the bill as a potential top-pairing defender for Columbus. He is teammates with one of Columbus' top prospects in Moncton- fellow blueliner David Savard.

Good player, but still number 3 on my list for the Jackets (assuming Hall and Seguin aren’t included). I like Gudbranson best, all three of these guys move the puck well, but Gudb has got the size and the attitude that is needed in our lineup especially since it looks like Commodore’s days could be numbered.
That’s an interesting thought- do you think Commie’s on the way out? Personally I think his albatross of a contract will hinder any attempt to move him for value. There’s always waivers I guess.

Ya because of that contract he may be on our payroll until that expires, but after this last season I’m starting to think maybe his skills are on the way out. Personally, I’d love to see the giant red afro throw some monster hip checks for the next couple years…this year was just a little discouraging.
