The USA vs. Canada open thead

PrintToday is the biggest game in the prelims of the Olympic Hockey tournment USA/Canada. This is a game in which the captain Rick Nash is playing in a game that I might actually watch the entire game. Unforntantly NBC felt that Ice Dancing was more important than this so its on MSNBC, the only time I will watch MSNBC and factually reporting will be going on. So now its time to talk about the exctiting Olympic Hockey

I don’t expect a victory but a pretty solid first period. We have to be better defensively though.
While I love seeing Nash do well in the NHL, national matters come first. He was annoying in this game, constantly checking and flowing to good places. Thus, it makes me very happy to see him end minus-3 and losing.
The USA should be very excited about what this year’s team has to offer. While they are young, that is also their main benefit. This team will be around for at least the next Olympics (assuming NHL involvement), and are bound to improve. Kane in particular was stunning, playing 3-4 shifts in the 2nd and 3rd where he was untouchable. No goals, but simply amazing.
Now, to celebrate the USA victory I offer the following simply the following name: Ryan Miller. Thanks for his use this Olympics Buffalo!
I’m with you about national matters coming first. I had a friend ask me if I would rather see the USA medal and lose Nash for the rest of the season OR see Nash stay healthy and USA not medal. I love Nash and would never wish him ill but if team USA medals, I don’t care what else happens. I hope this team continues to believe that they can win every game that they are involved in. I don’t think they are intimidated and that serves them well.
